Building Surveys for home buyers across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and St Albans
Formerly known as the "full structural survey," a Building Survey is the most detailed survey available. It is suited to properties built before circa 1840 or younger properties which appear to be in very poor condition.
A Building Survey is suitable for all pre 1840 properties and also younger properties which appear to be in a very poor or dilapidated condition. It is also recommended for properties which have undergone significant alterations such as extensions and those built of unconventional materials (timber framing, thatched roofs etc).
Unlike HomeBuyer Reports, Building Surveys do not have a standard format set by the RICS. It is down to the individual surveyor to choose his or her own way of reporting. A Building Survey is a comprehensive document which covers all elements of the property's structure. We will also give advice as to the suitability and safety of services although further specialist tests may be required.
Photos are an integral part of our Building Surveys as we believe that they are vital for highlighting any defects. An annotated photographic appendix is included in all Building Surveys.
